Letter - Recruiters: evidence of poor ethics mounts

Further to your interesting articles on recruitment ethics, my personal experience suggests a growing amount of unethical behaviour and a need for a code of practice.

I applied for my present job through one company, which, after weeks of silence, told me it had not put me forward as I 'wasn't suitable'.

Annoyed, I applied through a second company that had also been given the brief (because, it turned out, the first had supplied completely unsuitable people) and got the job. The first company then had the audacity to demand a fee for my appointment.
