BBC's Payne exits for Henry’s House

The BBC is hunting two comms chiefs to oversee flagship shows such as EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing after Julian Payne’s exit for Henry’s House.

Payne led publicity for 18 months, promoting storylines and managing talent-related crises. He had also begun a new role – head of comms for BBC3, comedy and entertainment. Recruitment for both jobs has begun.

Payne will become Henry's House's fourth director in May, reporting to deputy MD Ginny Paton.

He will work on accounts such as Virgin Mobile, T4 and ITV.
