Edelman team in ABPI code exams

Edelman is putting all its senior UK healthcare staff through ABPI exams as it bids to ensure it always operates within the body’s code of conduct.

In what is thought to be an unprecedented move, all ten staff at account-director level and above will spend the next six months swotting up for the ABPI's Medical Representatives Exam.

Like all agencies, Edelman purports always to operate within the ABPI code of conduct – a tighter version of which came into force in January. But passing the ABPI exam will, the agency believes, enable it to present clients with an attractive point of difference.

* Edelman is currently recruiting for the newly created role of consumer healthcare director. The postholder will report to UK healthcare MD Mike Kan.
