Orange PRO croons World Cup anthem

With Embrace scooping the right to record the official England World Cup song (see below), the challenge is laid down to contenders for the unofficial 'Fat Les' best of the rest prize.

Step forward Orange head of UK media relations Stuart Jackson with an infuriatingly catchy ditty 'Singing Our Hearts Out For England'. Diary has given it a spin and can confirm that with a touch of John Barnes' rapping magic it could be a terrace anthem.

Sources close to Jackson reveal he has been in talks with a beer company and a soft drinks firm as well as The Lemon Group, known for working with Simon Cowell.

If all else fails, Jackson could enter it into Christian O'Connell's World Cup song competition on Virgin Radio. We are sure any link with the show's sponsor - a certain colour-branded telecoms firm - will be viewed as entirely coincidental.
