Letter: Shady recruitment practices wear thin ...

So PR recruiters want a clampdown on bad behaviour? ('Recruiters - time for stricter rules?' 24 March). About time, too.

I recently received an approach direct from a potential candidate and contacted the individual to arrange an interview. Two days later I received the same details from two separate recruitment companies who hadn't even interviewed the candidate, simply inserting their company logo and contact details on the candidate's CV and removing the candidate's own contact details.

The CV was accompanied with a gushing email suggesting that I meet this high-quality candidate.

PR recruiters need to get their act together or they will continue merely to be viewed as a necessary evil.
