AGENCY The Interpublic Group cited several of its PR agencies, including Weber Shandwick and Golin Harris, as bright spots in last week’s global results. Their performance contrasted with that of its major ad agencies, which contributed to a group revenue decline of 1.8 per cent for 2005.

CORPORATE Brussels corporate outfit Aspect has hired Patrick Worms,  ex-V-P of corporate comms at Ogilvy PR in Brussels, as a senior consultant. Martin Light, ex-head of internal comms at Visa Europe, has joined as senior internal comms adviser.

AGENCY London consumer agency Threepipe has created a parenting and kids' brand division with three former Red Consultancy staff – Nina Otero, Liz Yonge and Jo Snow. Clients of Threepipe Junior include Scalextric.

CONSUMER BMW has brought in Performance PR to promote its sponsorship across golf, motorsports and sailing. A motoring event at Brands Hatch in May will feature golfers Ian Poulter and Paul Casey.

AGENCY Bristol agency JBP Public Relations has signed up former ITV West News anchorman Richard Lyddon as a board director. He will advise clients on media relations.

CONSUMER Hand Picked Hotels, the countryside hotel chain built by millionaire Guy Hands, is using Cow PR to 'build a brand personality behind the name'. Cow will also handle issues and crisis management.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS Zaki Cooper, head of external affairs for the Chief Rabbi, has quit to become director of Business for New Europe (BNE), a campaign body for greater economic liberalisation in Europe. Cooper was brought on board by Finsbury senior partner Roland Rudd, chairman of BNE, which launched this week. The BNE's advisory council includes WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell.
