PI secures school renovation brief

Learning 21, a PFI consortium bidding for local authority school renovation contracts, has appointed Politics International (PI) for public affairs support.

The group is a joint venture between support services company VT Group and construction firm Costain. It is targeting contracts brought about by the Building Skills for the Future Programme, the Government's 15-year drive to improve the design and build of schools.

Around 180 schools have been earmarked for renovation over the next two years alone. Learning 21 has been shortlisted as a bidder in the south London borough of Lewisham.

Meanwhile, PI this month appointed Bill Clare, chief of staff to shadow defence secretary Liam Fox.
