So Diary called Jonathan Shore, the Cohn & Wolfe UK boss who - since last autumn - has been in the unusual role of simultaneously running GCI across Europe, to ask what was going on.
Shore revealed plans to move GCI out of its City HQ as soon as a new tenant is found. He was quick to slap down our mischievous suggestion that he could move all GCI's staff into C&W's West End offices (as PRWeek reported in January, GCI's small healthcare team has already moved in with C&W).
'How do you get 75 people into offices that only have space for another eight?' Shore asked rhetorically, before explaining he wanted to get all GCI staff, currently on six floors, into a single-level pad. He added that GCI's new command centre is unlikely to be near C&W, where real estate is 'too expensive'.
Was that the screech of WPP accountants tightening their belts that could be heard in the background?
