Van firm LDV bids to salvage image

Van maker LDV has called in PR support to reassure the market that it is back in business, having been on the brink of collapse.

The firm drew comparisons with MG Rover after it went into administration in December, but was snapped up by US venture capitalist Sun Capital Partners for a reported £75m.

It has now taken on Automotive PR to highlight its sound financial footing and development of new ranges.

Interim CEO Charles Megan, a Sun Capital executive with a reputation as a 'company doctor', will be used in media relations work.

Based near Birmingham, LDV was founded in 1993 after an MBO of Leyland Daf.
