QBO brand axed in Chime revamp

The QBO name, derived from the 1973-launched Quentin Bell Organisation, is being consigned to history.

Chime Communications is axing the QBO Bell Pottinger brand in a restructure aimed at winning bigger, multi-practice clients. The PR division will now be called the Bell Pottinger Group.

A Chime 'collective' of agency heads has formed to lead the new-business drive, under ex-BP Corporate & Financial chief Tim Ryan.
'PR is increasingly complex, with many different audiences,' said BP group chairman Kevin Murray. 'One agency is often not enough. The collective offers access to all BP disciplines.' 

The eight-strong collective includes Harvard managing director Simon Jones.

Chime acquired QBO in November 2000.
