Homebuyer firms seek HIP support

A coalition of firms involved in housebuying has called in Quintus Public Affairs to build parliamentary support for home information packs, which vendors are obliged to provide from June 2007.

The Association of Home Information Pack Providers includes estate agent Spicer Haart and conveyancer My Home Move. D-G Mike Ockenden said: 'The ability to work with government in defining the content of home information packs is vital.'

Tory leader David Cameron has called the packs a 'roadblock to ownership for first-time buyers'.
