Phone block firm targets parents

A firm offering parents the opportunity to restrict their children’s mobile phone has appointed Johnson King PR to promote the concept.

Parent Patrol – the recently launched product of Acecomm – disables phones, as well as certain numbers, during set periods. Johnson King will aim to build consumer awareness and persuade mobile networks to adopt the technology.

'We will link the service to the new Education Bill, which will give teachers the legal right to confiscate mobile phones,' said Johnson King business development director Helen Banyard.

The agency ran projects for Acecomm prior to the launch of Parent Patrol at February's 3GSM exhibition in Barcelona, but was
retained last week.
