Flower shop eyes up star weddings

The UK’s biggest independent flower retailer, Serenata Flowers, has signed up Hill & Knowlton in a bid to expand its online offering.

The firm, which has traditionally marketed itself through Google's ranking system, wants to bolster its profile in consumer press.

'If there are celebrity weddings with themed flowers, we'll track the flowers' popularity through the site for news stories,' said H&K consumer technology and entertainment senior account manager Claire Holden.

Serenata recently closed its Twickenham high-street outlet, citing its intention to focus on web sales.

The brief is understood to be worth around £5,000 a month.
