Lehman Bros in comms team revamp

Lehman Brothers has restructured its comms division with the appointment of two senior PROs from rival City institutions.

Patrick Meyer, Merrill Lynch V-P of global markets and investment banking communications, will join Lehman in April as executive director for media relations in Europe.

Jeremy Apfel, Citigroup Private Bank's former head of corporate comms, has already joined Lehman as media relations director and will report to Meyer.

Lehman's PR department has been overseen by Europe and Asia executive director of corporate comms Christine Chinnery since Stewart Prosser, executive director of marketing and corp comms, fell ill last year.

Meyer will manage Lehman Brothers' network of PR agencies across Europe, including Smithfield in the UK and Financial Dynamics in France.

Following the departure of Apfel, Citigroup has created a global wealth management EMEA corporate affairs team under former EMEA head of media relations Susan Tether.
