B&B bags 'home buyer' info brief

The Government is to launch a PR campaign to support its attempt to make property buying easier, speedier and more transparent.

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has briefed Band & Brown Communications for a 'consumer and trade campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of home information packs (HIPs)', said B&B account director Simon Francis.

From June 2007, HIPs will place a legal obligation on vendors to provide detailed information on a property's condition.

Francis added: 'We will also be encouraging people to consider becoming home inspectors, who will be putting the packs together.'

B&B was appointed after a four-way pitch on fees of around £200,000. The drive will be accompanied by an advertising campaign.
