Microsoft ups social commitment PR with new hires

Microsoft Deutschland has appointed new contacts for corporate citizenship and public affairs as it builds up communications for its social commitments in Germany.

Katrin Pommer has been named press spokeswoman for corporate citizenship, to focus on the company's education network programme 'WissensWert' (Worth Knowing). She was previously a senior political communications consultant at Burson-Marsteller and wbpr in Berlin.

Astrid Kasper, presswoman for public affairs, comes from Walldorf software producer SAP where she was public affairs manager.  She will handle Microsoft's relationship with colleges, and support the public sector division.
