Pop star George Michael received a warm reaction from the press for his frank admission to being in possession of class-C drugs. Caught slumped over the wheel of his car at London's Hyde Park Corner, he opted not to defend his actions. 'It's my own stupid fault as usual,' he admitted, even praising the police involved. The Daily Mirror described his response as a 'mea culpa', contrasting him with footballers and MPs who 'hide behind devious "no comment" statements or lying PRs'.
