Love Honey creates good vibrations

Among the more eyebrow-raising consumer campaigns at the moment is that for the iBuzz - 'the music-activated orgasm machine that can be connected to any iPod, MP3 player or music source'.

The iBuzz is made by China-based Love Labs and is being marketed in the UK by Bath-based sex-toy retailer Love Honey.

PR for the device - which has seven 'vibration patterns' and which Love Honey claims is 'a bestseller in Europe' - is being handled in-house by Ali Carnegie, formerly of agencies including Slice and Barrington Harvey.

Love Labs is clearly relishing a potential spat with Apple over the iBuzz: it launched in the US on 24 February 'to coincide with the birthday of Apple boss Steve Jobs'.

When PRWeek calls Apple's UK PR team to see what it makes of iBuzz, it responds: 'We are aware of it. But it is our policy to not comment on third-party accessories.'

But we were a bit worried about a strange buzzing sound in the background during the same phone call.
