Here at Guildford Borough Council we've been busy implementing a strategy to rationalise publications. To help with this we've developed a questionnaire challenging internal clients to think about whether a publication really is the best solution. It also asks them to identify their audience, and distribution, publicity and evaluation methods.
We have also produced guidelines on branding, targeting and promotion, as well as an annual plan on our intranet for jointly produced leaflets.
Since December we have dispensed with seven publications and saved over £20,000.
