ODPM highlights council services

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) is to run a campaign urging the public to access council services online.

Blue Rubicon won the £200,000 account after a three-way pitch against Harrison Cowley and Band & Brown.

The campaign aims to highlight the fact that 98 per cent of council services are now available online. The agency will target 25 to 40-year-olds until July.

'The infrastructure is in place to do almost everything online; you can even arrange your child's school place via the web,' said Blue Rubicon MD Gordon Tempest-Hay, who leads the account.

The campaign will target big regional titles, such as the Manchester Evening News. It will include case studies from people who are already using the services as well as local authority employees, who will demonstrate how the internet has increased their efficiency.
