RNID tasks Santé with UK ‘bus tour’

The Royal National Institute for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People (RNID) has brought in agency support for a nationwide campaign.

Santé Communications will promote a bus fitted with hearing-test equipment for a six-week tour of the UK, starting in May.

'Breaking the Sound Barrier', launched by the Countess of Wessex in December last year, has already encouraged 240,000 people to take an over-the-phone hearing test. Part of its aim is to promote sensible use of personal stereos.

'This second wave of the project, which will be entirely PR-based, needed agency backing because of its scope,' said RNID campaign co-director Susan Osborne.

Former Cancer Research UK comms chief Osborne joined in July after heading her own comms consultancy (PRWeek, 9 July 2005).
