GA turns to Compagnon for European IR

Former Cubitt Consulting co-head of IR Bernard Compagnon is set to join Gavin Anderson.

Compagnon, who resigned from Cubitt last year (PRWeek, 6 January) is expected to join GA in the next three months, though he is not yet thought to have signed a contract with the Omnicom-backed firm.

It is believed that Compagnon has accepted a new head of European IR post. He was unavailable for comment.

Compagnon resigned from Cubitt last November, just 11 months after joining from international IR firm Taylor Rafferty, where he had been for 20 years.

Shortly after his arrival, Cubitt IR co-head and founding partner Noga Villalon quit, with agency co-founder Simon Brocklebank-Fowler absorbing her duties.

GA's interest in Compagnon is thought to stem from its financial comms activities in Europe, where financial comms and IR are more closely associated.

Recent GA business in this area includes Eurotunnel and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (PRWeek, 17 February).
