She said she was selling three-strong north London-based agency Red Apple – which she founded eight years ago – to account director Claire Learner. Carey will cease to be involved.
She said: 'It was a difficult decision. I hadn't been looking to do anything different, but I was approached by a recruitment agency and was impressed by Resolute.'
At Resolute she will report to managing director Phil Sheldon, the US national promoted to MD three months ago (PRWeek, 9 December 2005). Paul Blackburn and Anna Korving remain joint CEOs.
Carey joins the Resolute management team alongside the above trio, plus associate directors Diane Ross and Sarah Swift and account directors Julia Kirby, Suzanne Williamson and Kirsty Mearns.
She said Red Apple would continue to work for clients including Sanofi-Aventis (UK media work for OTC brands such as eye treatment Brolene and hayfever product Opticrom) and Philips Consumer (UK media work for its electronic toothbrush, Sonicare).
Prior to setting up Red Apple, Carey was a freelance PRO, working for clients including GlaxoSmithKline on its consumer health brands.
