Agencies jostle for Standard Life

Standard Life has assembled a shortlist of firms to handle PR for its stock market listing, which could take place later this year.

Previous incumbent Brunswick is pitching against Maitland, Tulchan Communications and Temple Bar Advisory.

The move follows initial 'chats' with agencies revealed in PRWeek last month (PRWeek, 13 January).

Standard Life head of media relations Scott White said an agency would be appointed with the proviso that Standard Life's members agreed to a flotation at a special general meeting, which is expected to take place in May or June.

Brunswick relinquished the brief in December 2004 after four years.
Standard Life's listing could value the company at more than £4bn.
