Lincolnshire aims for hi-tech profile

Lincolnshire County Council has taken on Camargue to attract businesses and position the county as a technology trailblazer.

Lincolnshire is Britain's first region to offer Advanced Broadband thanks to a tie-up with BT.

This allows SMEs based in rural areas to send large files without clogging up their systems. Existing broadband services allow users to receive and download – but not send – large files quicker.

Advanced Broadband will be available to 70 per cent of Lincolnshire by the summer .

Camargue won the account after a four-way pitch. Senior consultant Graeme Buck said: 'The Advanced Broadband roll out sets Lincolnshire apart tech-wise.'
