Ronnie Scott's to hire for relaunch

Ronnie Scott’s, jazz music’s spiritual London home, is looking for a PR agency to help it appeal to a wider audience.

The Soho club, which is to close next month for the first time in its 45-year history, has held talks with several agencies ahead of its planned re-opening in June.

Ronnie Scott's manager Nick Moss said he had hoped to hire this week but was still looking for an agency to promote the club, its restaurant and a new upstairs bar, which will be called Ronnie's.

Moss and club owner Sally Greene, who successfully repositioned The Old Vic theatre, want to market the venue to a new generation without offending its existing, diehard members.
