RSPB seeks help to save albatross

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is hunting agency support for its campaign to curtail the accidental slaughter of albatrosses by fishing fleets.

The charity, working alongside other wildlife groups around the world, wants to save the birds from untimely deaths on long-line fishing wires, which can be up to 70 miles long and carry sharp, baited hooks.

The RSPB will ask three agencies to pitch for the campaign. It has used agencies including The Red Consultancy on past projects.

The 'Save the Albatross' campaign launched last year and is backed by Sir David Attenborough.
