Clarity lures new director from FT

Bath-based agency Clarity Communications has poached Financial Times UK companies reporter Sophy Buckley as it prepares to expand its financial practice and open offices in London and Australia.

Buckley, who joined the FT ten years ago and has worked as a news editor commissioning copy on Asian companies, is to join Clarity later this month as the company's third director.

For the past three years she has specialised in mid-cap companies in the retail sector.

Buckley will initially be working on Clarity's account with corporate project manager PIPC.

Set up in 2003, Clarity's other directors are former freelance journalists John Leaver and Marc Ambasna-Jones. The six-strong firm, which claims to employ only former journalists, has also worked with Sony, Capgemini, Orange and Microsoft.
