Managers call in Mace over bungs

The League Managers’ Association is using a start-up agency founded by a former Leicester City PR man.

Macesport, set up last year by Paul Mace, is giving media counsel amid claims of a bung culture in the game.

The association, which represents managers and ex-managers of Premierhip and Football League clubs, says it has 'zero tolerance' of bungs.

It is using Mace to 'strengthen working relationships with all sections of the media'.

He is even running a 'media helpline service' for club managers.

Mace left Leicester City, where he was chief operating officer, last summer. He has also briefly worked for West Bromwich Albion.
