Peugeot launch work for Ptarmigan

French car maker Peugeot has shifted its UK account out of Lawson Clarke and handed the business to Ptarmigan as it looks to maximise sales of its 207 model – due in showrooms later this year.

The launch of the 207, successor to the best-selling 206, has been eagerly anticipated by the motoring community.

Other launches that Ptarmigan will promote for Peugeot this year include its 407 coupe and a yet-to-be-named van.

Explaining its decision to review the account, Peugeot said it has a policy of reviewing all supplier contracts every three years.

Ptarmigan MD Gordon Forbes said his agency – which won a four-way pitch – intended to 'inject fresh ideas to further build the brand's profile'. Lawson Clarke's events division will continue to work with Peugeot.

Owner PSA Peugeot Citroën, Europe's second-largest car maker, last week issued its second profits warning in three months, following a 2.7 per cent fall in sales in western Europe last year.
