Coke names head of global comms

ATLANTA: Coca-Cola has appointed Tom Mattia as director of worldwide PA and communications as it strives for health credibility.

Reporting to chairman and CEO Neville Isdell, Mattia starts next month, overseeing public policy, corporate comms and CSR. He joins from tech services company EDS, where he was V-P of global comms.

Mattia replaces Clyde C  Tuggle, now president of Coke's Russia, Ukraine and Belarus division.

Like rival PepsiCo, which has diversified into health and energy drinks, Coca-Cola's brand portfolio includes healthier drinks such as Just Juice, Kia Ora and Powerade.
