Volunteers bid to revitalise image

Voluntary services groups in Durham have hired local government specialist DTW to raise their profile.

Eleven member groups of the Council for Voluntary Services have pooled £40,000 for the brief. They want to attract volunteers and promote their services to community bodies.

'A lot of people think volunteering is about working in the local charity shop but it is much more than that,' said DTW account executive Joanne Hooper.

DTW will handle local media relations, which will be supported by advertising.
