PSA uses Tulchan for P&O contest

Singapore port operator PSA has called in Tulchan Communications as it battles with DP World for control of UK container group P&O.

Singapore government-owned PSA is understood to have enlisted Tulchan founder Andrew Grant and consultant David Trenchard ahead of P&O's announcement this week that it had been approached by the firm.

PSA is considering an offer that values P&O at £3.5bn. This would trump the £3.3bn recommended offer made by Dubai government-owned DP World.

DP World brought in Bell Pottinger Corporate & Financial for the bid towards the end of last year. P&O retains Brunswick.
