Petplan account goes up for grabs

Petplan, the UK’s biggest pet insurance brand, is on the hunt for a consumer agency following the resignation of five-year incumbent Nelson Bostock Communications.

Petplan animal health PR and events marketing manager Fiona Pinkney said she had four agencies 'in mind' for the £100,000 brief.

The Allianz Cornhill-owned insurer has 800,000 members. Last week HBOS-owned Esure launched a pet insurance offering, which it will cross-sell to its 170,000 household policyholders.

Nelson Bostock MD Martin Bostock said it resigned the business because 'both sides needed a change'.

Pet insurance typically offers financial cover for veterinary bills.
