Eidos prepares for Lara Croft birthday

Video game maker Eidos has hired Taylor Herring to mark the tenth anniversary of its flagship Lara Croft title.

The monster-battling archaeologist made her debut in 1996's Tomb Raider.

Taylor Herring will promote the spring launch of Tomb Raider: Legend – the seventh game in the series.

The agency will highlight the anniversary and draw attention to the games' global retail success – each version has sold more than 30 million copies.

Eidos head of comms Chris Glover said 2006 would be 'a year in which consumers are invited into the world of Lara Croft like never before'.
