Sponsored TV works for public education

'Why don't we trust government stats?' (Analysis, 18 November). Because they are marketed to us, rather than presented factually.

The public trust TV programmes. Official information is often complex, and the power of TV can best explain it. We want to fix this.

We are specifically licensed by Ofcom to allow factual information to be presented, by way of sponsored programmes, in precisely the form the civil servants want.

It's taken us a while to get the simplicity and power of our novel proposition across to the public sector - and indeed to PR and creative planning agencies - but we're getting there.

Fred J Perkins, chairman and CEO, Information TV.
