Money clearer Voca in PR rethink

Direct debit group Voca – formerly known as Bankers’ Automated Clearing Service – is reviewing its £500,000 PR account.

Voca's money transfer services are used by 70 per cent of the UK population and over 100,000 businesses. The firm is three weeks away from shifting its employee payments system to an internet-based platform – a change that will affect January wage payments at nearly 40,000 businesses.

Incumbent Band & Brown won the account two years ago (PRWeek, 28 November 2003), and handled the following year's rebrand.

However, PR manager Isabella Young said it was now looking to change the way it used external agencies.

'B&B worked across all of Voca's PR, but we will not work in the same way in the future,' she said.

'B&B has been invited to pitch on some aspects of the new brief,' she added, but declined to say whether Voca's overall PR budget would change.
