Nationwide in AGM voter drive

Nationwide Building Society has called in Media Strategy with a brief to bolster the number of members voting in its AGM.

Around ten per cent of the 6.5 million members eligible to vote did so this year and the society wants to push the figure up to one million.

'As a mutual organisation we are run for the benefit of members,' said Nationwide director of customer service and communication Charles Reed. 'It is important that members have their say on the running of their society.'

Next year's AGM takes place on 20 July.

Media Strategy is undertaking research to assess member attitudes towards voting. AS Biss & Co holds Nationwide's main PA brief.
