Diary: Golf team aided by Companycare fluke

Kaizo CEO Crispin Manners, Companycare Communications director Kevin Taylor - and Diary - were particularly chuffed last Saturday after a famous victory on the golf course.

The losers? Kaizo MD Paul Smith, Argyll HR MD Richard Baines and Pitch PR MD Henry Chappell.

As well as the erudite banter on major industry issues, the highlight of the friendly tournament at the Silvermere course in Surrey was the trivia spurted by Taylor after mishitting his second shot on the 13th hole.

The 19-handicapper 'thinned' his ball, sending it towards a lake. Amazingly, it skipped across the surface before lodging itself in a playable position on the far-side bank - saving a chuffed Taylor a valuable stroke.

The Companycare man had clearly read up on the course in advance, immediately pointing out his shot's similarity to the Dambuster bouncing bomb - which, he informed us, was tested on Silvermere lake.We gave his subsequent shots a wide berth lest his ball explode.
