B-M appoints MD for Italian offices

ROME: Burson-Marsteller Italy has created a managing director role with responsibility for public affairs across its Milan and Rome offices.

Clemente Senni's hire is one of several senior appointments as B-M tries to strengthen its regional management in Europe. It comes as the devolution law passed through Italian parliament last week handed more power to the country's 21 regional authorities.

Senni oversees the Rome office, which includes six public affairs consultants. In Milan, Senni and B-M vice-president Massimo Gargiulo share responsibility for a  PA team of six.

Clients include National Grid and Archidonna, a group that lobbies for a minimum number of female parliamentary candidates.
Senni reports to Italy CEO Eric Gerritsen.

He joins from consultancy Neos, where he was a managing partner. He is a former member of BT's international taskforce.
