Ex-Samaritan fills Breast Cancer role

Breast Cancer Care has filled its top comms role with ex-Samaritans head of special projects Murray Lindo.

Lindo replaces Alex Ford as director of fundraising and marketing. Ford left in the summer to become chief executive at recently launched ovarian cancer charity The Eve Appeal (PRWeek, 23 September).

Breast Cancer Care has also expanded its comms team in a bid to cement its role as one of the UK's leading breast cancer charities.
Age Concern senior media relations officer Sophie Howells has joined in the new position of comms manager; she will handle campaigns and policy affairs. The Stroke Association media officer Ruwani Weerasinghe has joined as a communications officer.

The charity is also planning to recruit a further four staff by next spring.
