Edelman hires Fitton for BioScience position

Edelman has hired healthcare comms veteran Dr Andrew Fitton to bolster the senior ranks of its science comms arm BioScience Communications.

Fitton takes a London account director role with responsibility to build its 'strategic publication programmes' offering. His work will include the development of manuscripts for publication in science journals for undisclosed clients.

Fitton has 18 years' experience of healthcare comms. Before joining BioScience he was a senior medical writer with medical comms outfit Adis International, initially in New Zealand and, more recently, in Cheshire.

His move to BioScience comes just seven weeks after ex-Lowe Fusion Healthcare managing director Neil McCallum-Deighton joined in a director role (PRWeek, 30 September). McCallum-Deighton is one of two directors in the BioScience UK team, alongside Jasmine
Zidane.

The overall BioScience UK team is now 17-strong and is ultimately overseen by Edelman UK healthcare boss Mike Kan.
