Glass is clearly the man for the job

Following the revelation that Carrot Communications is promoting a dancing vibrator (PRWeek, 19 August), we have unearthed yet more evidence of PR advisers boasting wonderfully apt names among the serious dealmaking that has dominated the City in recent weeks.

Brunswick partner Jonathan Glass is advising Nippon Sheet Glass on how best to crystallise its £2bn offer for glassmaker Pilkington among analysts and financial media, Diary can reveal.

The media reported last week that Nippon's resolve over its high offer price might have begun to crack. But some analysts say there is only a shard of daylight between Nippon's offer and Pilkington's fair market price. Hopefully Glass can get the right glaze.
