It was precisely because the CIPR addresses the lack of diversity within the industry that I, as a black woman who has held MD positions past and present, joined. It is surely the job of the CIPR to lead on an issue that is central to comms best practice and the advancement of our industry.
PR professionals need to be able to communicate with an increasing range of groups; to do this successfully the industry needs to be representative of wider society or it will fail to serve both clients and society.
