Edelman Brazil and Edelman Mexico will work separately in their respective markets, although they will share information and experiences, according to Alexandre Alfredo, VP of Edelman Brazil.
Alfredo added it was Edelman Brazil that prospected the new client in Sao Paulo and tipped its sister company in Mexico about Compuware's need for an agency in that country. Each agency has signed a separate agreement with the local division of Compuware.
"There is a strong possibility that Edelman's divisions in Argentina and Chile will also begin to provide PR services for Compuware in the first half of next year," he said.
Alfredo said that Edelman's presence in several Latin American countries had worked in its favour.
"We learned Compuware was shopping in Brazil and approached them with a
project. We know they talked with other Brazilian agencies, but they have
not held a formal pitch process," Alfredo added.
The agencies will provide media relations and CEO positioning for Compuware
in Brazil and Mexico.
Founded in 1973, Compuware currently has 84 offices in 60 countries and 7,672 employees. It serves the world's largest IT organizations, including 95 percent of the Fortune 100 companies.
