His appointment comes just weeks after Google opened a lobbying office in Washington DC. Schrage was previously at the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations, where he acted as an adviser to global corporations on CSR. He has also served as senior V-P at Gap and as an MD at public policy and management consultancy Clark & Weinstock.
Earlier this year, Google announced it had hired Dan Senor as V-P of global comms strategy, but he never took up the role. Senor was previously at the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.
