WS in lobby task for coastal group

The Coastal Action Zone (CAZ) – a Lincolnshire-based initiative aiming to regenerate deprived coastal areas – has hired Weber Shandwick to a six-month account.

CAZ is led by East Lindsey District Council, in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council. The deprived area includes Skegness and Mablethorpe. Only 13 per cent of the county's population are qualified to NVQ level 3 or above – compared with 48 per cent nationally – and 26 per cent are aged 65 or over (compared with 16 per cent nationally).

WS is tasked with lobbying government to create more jobs. It is hoped that other coastal areas will set up similar initiatives.
