Hit or Miss... Drinks industry split on bingeing

An Observer splash claimed the drinks industry was behind 'a ruthless campaign of psychological tricks' to boost sales ahead of extended licensing laws. Dave Daley, head of the National Association of Licensed House Managers, said pub managers are rewarded for 'creating' binge drinking. As Daley broke ranks, British Beer and Pub Association comms director Mark Hastings countered with press briefings, media interviews and contact with MPs. He told PRWeek Daley was 'misinformed'.
