We have just launched our own wristbands to support digital divide campaign Equity (Equal opportunities in IT for young people). As well as being a fundraiser, they have been important in getting our message out to students.
It is true that wristbands have been hijacked by retailers and the fashion industry, but they are still very much a legitimate fundraising tool, helping small charities such as ours to raise much-needed funds in a competitive arena.
Although we may be late-comers to the wristband game, we welcome the exposure our distinctive new orange and white Equity wristbands can give us.
As long as people continue to support the wristband craze, charities are bound to keep producing them, and as far as the e-Learning Foundation is concerned, long may it last.
