Al Fayed unveils new spokesman

Mohamed Al Fayed, this week in the headlines over a spat with Max Clifford, has brought in a new personal spokesman.

Conor Nolan, who has worked with the flamboyant Harrods owner for three years as an external consultant, has been installed in Al Fayed's office to work on personal media relations for the chairman and his family.

Nolan will also work on Al Fayed's Allied Stars film projects.

'Conor worked on the 2003 Peter Pan film [for which Al Fayed was executive producer],' said Harrods corporate comms director Peter Willasey. 'He has also worked on other projects and is trusted enough to take the position.'

Al Fayed has been without a personal spokesman since Chester Stern left the post last year.
